Small fire at the Tulalip Resort Casino on Sunday prompts evacuation

WASHINGTON -- As reported by Seattle PI: "A small fire broke out at the Tulalip Resort hotel and casino Sunday around 3:45 a.m., the Marysville Fire District reported. Fire crews from Marysville and the Tulalip Bay Fire Department were dispatched.

"...crews realized that the casino's sprinkler system had put the blaze out. The fire prompted the hotel staff to evacuate about 100 guests from the 9th, 10th and 11th floors.

"Fire investigators believe discarded smoking materials that were tossed into a planter box caused the fire. There were no immediate damage estimates..."
