Slots arrive at Mount Airy Casino

16 August 2007

PARADISE TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The first shipment of slot machines arrived today at the new $412 million Mount Airy Casino Resort, which is on track to complete initial construction and open its doors in October 2007.

Today, Mount Airy Casino Resort received 151 slot machines from Williams Gaming, one of a range of slots manufactures that will be utilized by Mount Airy Casino Resort. The machines were transported on two trucks which arrived early this morning from Chicago. Each machine was then escorted from the truck to the gaming floor by a Mount Airy Casino Resort Security Officer. Mount Airy Casino Resort Slot Technicians then set the machine on its base and prepared the machine for operation. This work was performed under the supervision of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

The remainder of the 2,500 slot machines that the casino will open its doors with will be delivered over the course of the next month. The slot machines at the casino will include a mix of reel-spinning machines and the newest themed video slots, as well as progressive jackpots. Patrons will also be able to play the latest video poker, blackjack, craps, and roulette games, with electronic dealers. Slots denominations will range from penny slots to $25 machines.

Upon completion of construction work later this year, Mount Airy Casino Resort will offer a casino with 2,500 of the most current slot machines, a 188-room hotel, spa and salon, restaurants, nightclub, retail shopping and meeting space. Online reservations will start in late September. Work on Phase II of the 891-acre site will continue after the opening, with an additional 212 hotel rooms, pool, and a casino with up to 3,000 total slot machines completed by the end of 2008.
