Slot machines and trains could coexist at Raynham Park

RAYNHAM — As reported by The Enterprise: "Suddenly, the chances of slot machines as well as a new train station breathing new life into Raynham Park seems a lot more likely.

"With the recent election of House Speaker Robert DeLeo — an advocate of expanded gambling in the state — hopes are high for a bill that would allow slot machines at the state's four racetracks. Rep. David Flynn, D-Bridgewater, filed the bill a couple of weeks ago, said Joseph Pacheco, chairman of Raynham's Board of Selectmen. Pacheco said DeLeo has indicated that he "wanted to talk about slots" at the state's tracks, which are at Raynham Park, Plainridge Racecourse in Plainville, Suffolk Downs in Boston and Wonderland Greyhound Park in Revere..."
