SkyCity Workers On Strike Again

NEW ZEALAND – As reported by the New Zealand Stuff: "Staff at Hamilton's Sky City casino went on strike yesterday, the third time in a week, in pursuit of higher wages.

"The staff want parity with their Auckland counterparts, who are paid 15 to 20 per cent more. SkyCity has offered the Hamilton staff a 2 per cent wage rise.

"Around 130 workers at the casino - 80 per cent of its staff - belong to the Service and Food Workers Union, which said the company was now bringing in non-unionised Auckland staff and paying them Auckland rates…"
