Sioux City Casino Sale Approved

IOWA – As reported by the Sioux City Journal: "The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission Thursday approved Penn National's acquistion of Sioux City's riverboat casino.

"Penn National, based in Wyomissing, Penn., is buying Alton, Ill.-based Argosy Gaming Co., owner of the Sioux City boat, as part of a $2.2 billion deal.

"…The Sioux City boat, which has 36,000 square feet of gambling space on three decks, arrived at its MIssouri River dock last summer, replacing an older vessel a third its size. As part of a $20 million project, Argosy refurbished the boat, added more slot machines and table games, installed an air filtration system and built more parking spaces…"
