Shoalwater Bay Casino to begin phased reopening

22 May 2020

Shoalwater Bay Casino will be reopening to the public on 29 May after a limited number of guests visit during the soft opening from 26-28 May. Below is the official statement posted on the Washington Casino's website.

"We are extremely excited to open and welcome our Family back. We will be making every effort to ensure our guests and team members are as safe as possible. To that end we will open in a controlled fashion.

On an invitation only basis, a strictly limited number of guests will begin to visit us on Tuesday May 26th, Wednesday May 27th and Thursday May 28th. If you did not receive an invitation for one of these three nights you will be unable to enter the Casino. The controlled reopening gives us the opportunity to test and fine tune our COVID-19 safety protocols before allowing everyone to visit.
We will open to the general public on Friday May 29th at 10:00am. Our new hours will be10:00am to 10:00pm Sunday through Thursday and 10:00am to midnight on Friday and Saturday. Smoke’N Spirits Liquor Store remains open daily. The Tradewinds Motel will open at a later date.

When you arrive you will find we have taken several measures to ensure your safety and the safety of our Team. The casino floor has been designated all NON-SMOKING. Covered smoking areas will be available outside. Your temperature will be taken via thermal scanner upon arrival. Any person displaying a temperature above 100.0 degrees or any other known symptoms of COVID-19 such as coughing or shortness of breath will be asked to visit another time.

All guests and all team members will be required to wear gloves and masks while on the Casino floor. You are encouraged to bring your own mask and gloves as our supplies are limited. You may remove your mask momentarily to have a bite to eat or take a sip of your drink. You will find hand sanitizer stations throughout the property.

Our CasinoTrac player system will automatically disable the machines on either side of you when you insert your player club card, cash or gaming ticket, thereby promoting practical social distancing. The Casino’s maximum occupancy has been reduced to 150 to further protect guests and team members.
For your safety and the safety of our team you will find plexi-glass installed throughout the property in places where guests’ and team members interact regularly such as the cage, the lounge, the liquor store and the players club. We also have a new, “let us serve you” system for our complimentary beverages and salad bar to reduce contact in that high traffic area and you’ll find directional arrows on our floor to support practical social distancing. And don’t worry about your free play. It’s here waiting for you.

Our hope is that all of these protocols are temporary, but till then stay safe and think safety for yourself and others. Be sure to follow us on Facebook for up to date Shoalwater Bay Casino news."
