Scarborough casino proposal approved

SCARBOROUGH, England -- As reported by the Scarborough Evening News: "Scarborough could be home to a second Casino by the end of 2011 following House of Lords approval of a scheme which will see eight gambling venues built in towns across the UK.

"Scarborough Council chiefs have started the process of inviting developers and operators to submit proposals for the development of a "small casino" with a minimum gaming area of 750 square metres or 896 square yards, with a maximum of 80 gaming machines with a jackpot of up to £4,000.

"...[Chief executive Jim Dillion] says the council's casino project team is currently in the process of putting together criteria for developers to consider when submitting their proposals..."
