Saratoga Casino announces benefit concert for local country fan

29 November 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Saratoga Casino Hotel has announced they will host a country benefit concert in Vapor on Thursday, 21 December. "We Band Together: A Tribute to Sue" will feature some of the most prominent country artists in the Capital Region for a concert to benefit an avid local country music fan, Sue Bogucki. Tickets for the show will go on sale Thursday, 30 November on the casino's website.

Sue Bogucki was a fixture of local country music events. She was named North Country Music Awards "Fan of the Year" in 2016 and 2017, and would oftentimes be found in the front row of any local country music show. Sue would pride herself in supporting artists locally before they transitioned into stardom on a national stage. Sue Bogucki passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, 14 November. The benefit concert in Vapor will raise proceeds for her family to offset funeral expenses.

"At any country show in Vapor, you could always count on seeing Sue as one of the first guests in line," said Kathleen Anderson, Director of Entertainment at Saratoga Casino Hotel. "We look forward to bringing all of these country acts together to honor Sue and help her family during this difficult time."

"We Band Together: A Tribute to Sue" will feature local favorites including Big Sky Country, Skeeter Creek, Moonshine Junkies, the Jason Wicks Band, Vinny Saj Band and the Back 40 Band featuring Mark Pierre.

"When we all heard of Sue's passing, we knew we had to do this for her," said Brad Gardner, member of Big Sky Country. "Sue was always the life of the party at all our shows, and we will deeply miss one of our most devoted fans."

The event will be hosted by Country Music Award winning radio personality, Kevin Richards.

"The Capital Region country music scene was forever changed by Sue Bogucki," said Kevin Richards, disc jockey on 100.9 The Cat. "Sue's energy and enthusiasm at every country show was contagious, and we are all indebted to her for helping to realize the talent and potential of so many great country artists in our community."

Tickets for "We Band Together: A Tribute to Sue" are $20 and will go on sale the morning of Thursday, 30 November on the casino's website. Tickets can also be purchased at the Saratoga Club inside Saratoga Casino Hotel. All proceeds will go to the family of Sue Bogucki.
