Saipan casino legalization up for House vote

SAIPAN, Northern Marina Islands -- The Saipan parliament will vote today on legalizing casinos, The Saipan Tribune reported.

There is division on the casino bill, but during public hearings most supported their introduction but want amendments to the bill, according to the Saipan Tribune.

On Tinian there is one casino already in operation since 1998, while Saipan voters rejected the idea in 2007 elections, the report noted.
