Gaming NewsRussia: Gambling zones not recouping investment yet2 December 2011RUSSIA -- Early economic analysis of the changes the Russian government made in rezoning gambling suggests the casinos are recouping only 7 percent of outlay costs, according to Ria Novosti. The government originally planned 4 gambling zones, of which only one containing two casinos has opened, the report explained. The government invested 1.4 billion rubles to establish these gambling zones, but it is suspected that many gambling establishments have continued to operate illegally or under a lottery loophole, the Ria Novosti report said. |
