Robinson joins Black Oak Concert Series

3 July 2018

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Legendary singer-songwriter, producer and co-founder of Motown Records Smokey Robinson will hit the stage as part of the Black Oak Casino Resort Concert Series on 18 August 2018. Fans will delight in hearing Robinson sing some of his greatest hits, including “Cruisin,’” “Tracks of My Tears” and the Grammy Award-winning “Just to See Her.”

Robinson’s commercial success and musical contributions began as a member of The Miracles, best known for the classics “You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me,” “I Second That Emotion” and Motown’s first million-selling hit, “Shop Around.” And while Robinson found enormous success with The Miracles, his popularity continued to soar as a solo performer. Soulful hits like “Being with You” and “One Heartbeat” have kept fans flocking to his shows for more than 60 years.

Over the course of his career, Robinson has earned some of the highest honors afforded to an artist including an induction into the Kennedy Center, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a second star with The Miracles. He has also been awarded a medal at the National Medal of Art, a Heritage Award at the Soul Train Music Awards and a BET Lifetime Achievement Award. Don’t miss this special opportunity to see one of music’s most talented living legends and one of its greatest influences.

Tickets for Smokey Robinson at Westside Pavilion as part of the Black Oak Concert Series are on sale now. For more information and to purchase, visit the Black Oak Casino Resort website.
