Gaming NewsRiverside Casino sues minor2 March 2007IOWA – As reported by the Iowa City Press-Citizen: "To 'send a clear message' that no minors should be on the gaming floor, the Riverside Casino & Golf Resort has filed a lawsuit in Washington County against a minor who entered the casino floor with false representation. "The casino is seeking to recoup the cost of a $20,000 fine. "Tuyet Nguyen, 20, was cited by the Division of Criminal Investigation on Oct. 19, 2006, for entering a casino and gambling under the legal age. She pleaded guilty and was sentenced Nov. 2, 2006. "…The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission fined the casino because Nguyen entered the gaming floor. "…Nguyen entered the gaming floor by showing the security officer her sister's driver's license, [casino general manager Joe] Massa said. The security officer reconsidered her identification and went onto the gaming floor to check again, he said…" |
