River Rock casino posts record results

CALIFORNIA -- As reported by the California Press Democrat: "River Rock Casino reported net revenues rose 6.7 percent last year to a record $139.4 million, driven by new marketing campaigns and upgrades to its slot machines, casino officials reported Monday.

"'We remain very excited about our plans to build a new destination resort to replace the current casino, and continue to evaluate the best strategy for financing this project,' said River Rock CEO Shawn Smyth.

"River Rock, Sonoma County's only tribal casino, is owned by the 947-member Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians. In 2006, it posted $130.6 million in net revenues..."
