Rick Springfield will visit Tropicana Atlantic City

25 April 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and pop rock musician Rick Springfield will perform live in the Tropicana Showroom at Tropicana Atlantic City Casino & Resort on Saturday, 23 September. Show time is 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Over the past three decades, Rick Springfield has worn many hats as an entertainer and performer. He's the creator of some of the finest power-pop of the '80s, a Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and musician who has sold 25 million albums and scored 17 U.S. Top 40 hits, including "Jessie's Girl," "Don't Talk to Strangers," "An Affair of the Heart," "I've Done Everything for You," "Love Somebody" and "Human Touch."

Springfield is also an accomplished actor who most recently starred opposite Meryl Streep in the feature film Ricki and the Flash, gave a chameleonic performance as the creepy Dr. Pitlor in HBO's prestige drama True Detective and is earning great reviews for his portrayal of Lucifer this season on the CW hit, Supernatural. In 2014, Springfield was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, located around the corner from the first apartment he lived in when he first arrived in the U.S. from Australia in 1971.

Springfield's latest musical effort is Rocket Science, his 18th studio album, which released in February 2016 through Frontiers Music. Written largely with his longtime collaborator and former bass player Matt Bissonette, the album delivers the expertly crafted wide-ranging pop-rock songs Springfield is known for.

“I wanted the album to be very open and electric — rock and roll with some country elements, and always with great hooks," Springfield says.

Tickets to see Rick Springfield at Tropicana Atlantic City range from $55 to $85, not including taxes and fees. Tickets are on sale now at the Tropicana Box Office, at Ticketmaster or via Ticketmaster's toll-free number at 1-800-745-3000. Tickets are subject to tax and fees.
