Gaming NewsResorts workers help out22 November 2006EAST CHICAGO, Indiana – As reported by the Northwest Indiana News: "Everyday, the Salvation Army of East Chicago provides free dinners to members of the community who are in need. "But Sharon Read, an administrative assistant at Salvation Army Church, said the Tuesday before Thanksgiving is special. "For 24 years, the community's less fortunate have come to the church for the holiday meal. Unlike the dinners served on any other day, the Thanksgiving meal is more formal. Guests are seated and waited on by volunteers instead of picking up their food from a window. "…The traditional Thanksgiving meal of turkey, mashed potatoes and vegetables was prepared by the chefs of Resorts East Chicago Hotel and Casino.
