Reno on 'forgotten vacation spots' list

RENO, Nevada -- Reno has been included on US News & World Report's ranking for forgotten vacation spots, the Reno Gazette-Journal reported.

However the description of Reno in the report was not exactly a ringing endorsement, the citation described the city as shabby with hotels of "mediocre upkeep," the Reno Gazette-Journal report explained.

The report became steadily worse, in answer to the question of whether Reno should be forgotten, it concluded "probably", according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.

Reno Mayor Bob Cashell said he was disappointed by the report, advising that the writer should have come to Reno to see all the things the city has going for it, The Reno Gazette-Journal noted.
