Racinos may be coming to Webb County

WEBB COUNTY, Texas -- As reported by Pro8 News: "In this economic crisis, states, cities, and counties are considering just about any options when it comes to supplementing their budgets.

"...Webb County is one of the places that some say could see big money with a racino. That's a term being used to describe a combination 'horse race-track and casino.'

"...And it seems that with the economic crunch, alternative, and very lucrative sources of revenue like this is catching on with elected officials.

"...According to a study released by a pro-gambling group, Texans spent 2.8 billion dollars on gambling in 2007 in other neighboring states..."
