Gaming NewsPresque Isle Downs opening likely delayed6 February 2007PENNSYLVANIA – As reported by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette: "The opening of Western Pennsylvania's first slots parlor, that at Presque Isle Downs, appears likely to be delayed beyond the Feb. 15 target date. "The Erie County racetrack casino with 2,000 slot machines is facing a probable delay into March, if not beyond, because of both a vacancy on the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and a lawsuit protesting the facility's license. "MTR Gaming Group Inc., the owner of the new Presque Isle Downs in addition to Mountaineer Race Track & Gaming Resort in Chester, W.Va., has yet to reschedule the Feb. 15 opening date that was set months ago. Its representatives acknowledged yesterday, however, that the opening is in jeopardy, and a postponement could be announced this week…" |
