Potawatomi evacuated after gas leak

MENOMONEE VALLEY -- As reported by TMJ 4: "Hundreds of people were evacuated from Potawatomi Bingo Casino because of a natural gas leak. No injuries were reported.

"Officials say the leak was caused by a contractor who hit the main gas line going into the casino. They say the odor of natural gas was evident inside the casino, which was one indication that an evacuation was necessary. Casino officials say announcements were made over the PA system to let guests know they needed to evacuate.

"The evacuation occurred at 10:30 Monday morning. One-thousand people from Potawatomi Bingo Casino were evacuated and others from a next door meat packing plant were also evacuated..."
