Pennsylvania official denies gaming license probe

PENNSYLVANIA -- As reported by the Pennsylvania Patriot News: "The Dauphin County district attorney's office sat a fifth grand jury, but prosecutors say it isn't looking at how casino licenses were handed out.

"Prosecutors took the unusual step of talking about what wasn't being discussed before a grand jury -- whose sessions are confidential -- after statewide media reported they were looking at the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

"...The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has come under fire for awarding Mount Airy Casino Resort owner Louis DeNaples a gambling license. DeNaples was charged with perjury in January after a Dauphin County grand jury investigation into allegations that he lied to the board's investigators about his alleged relationships with organized crime figures..."
