Palace Casino Resort opens first race book on Gulf Coast

16 April 2019

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Palace Casino Resort will open the Gulf Coast’s first race book on Wednesday, 17 April. The addition of a race book comes on the heels of the opening of CONTACT Sports Book in August 2018 and just in time for racing’s most exciting and popular events, the Triple Crown Races, starting with the Kentucky Derby on 4 May.

Guests will be able to place wagers every day on nationwide horse racing events at teller windows and at self-service terminals located in the newly renamed CONTACT Sports & Race Book. House rules and well-trained tellers are available to assist guests with common and more advanced wagers.

“We’re thrilled to be able to bring pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing to the Mississippi Gulf Coast,” said General Manager, Keith Crosby. “This is a project we have worked on for several years, and we are excited to offer our guests the best possible wagering opportunities on all major U.S. tracks,” stated Crosby. Palace Casino Resort will be partnering with three leading nationwide content providers and will continue to add options based on guest demand.

Robert and Lawana Low, owners of Palace Casino Resort, are prominent Thoroughbred owners and breeders. The Lows own and operate a 300 acre farm named “Primatara” located in their hometown of Springfield, MO. The Lows have owned notable horses such as 2018 Arkansas Derby (G1) Winner and Kentucky Derby contender Magnum Moon, along with Real Cozzy, Green Fee, G1 Winner Capote Belle, and 2006 Kentucky Derby 3rd place finisher, Steppenwolfer. The Lows are pleased to share their passion for the industry with Biloxi through the new race book inside Palace Casino Resort.

With the addition of a race book, CONTACT will be the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s most unique sports and race betting venue. The convenient, smoke free experience, located just off the casino floor, features great food, in addition to full bar and drink service.
