Pakistan cricket chief retracts 'fixing' comments

PAKISTAN AND LONDON -- Ijaz Butt, Pakistan's cricket chief, has withdrawn comments he made last week on English cricket players, the BBC reported.

Butt's outburst, which drew condemnation and legal threats from the English Cricket Board, included accusations of match-fixing by English players at The Oval match on September 17, 2010, the BBC said.

Butt withdrew the comments and expressed deep regret that his statements cast doubt on English cricket team, the BBC reported.
