Gaming NewsOnline gambling needs controls: Betfair7 December 2009AUSTRALIA -- Betfair Australia acknowledged yesterday that having safeguards to prevent problem gambling would be essential if online gambling companies are to enter Australia, according to a report in The Age. Betfair Australia's Chief Executive was quoted in The Age report stating the industry needs to "provide the safest platform that we possibly can". At present Australians spend $790 million on overseas gambling sites, The Age report said.
