Oklahoma Tribe Opens Casino

22 July 2004

OKLAHOMA – As reported by the Native American Times: "The Osage Tribe's Million Dollar Elm Tree Casino in Sand Springs will open to the public Thursday, July 22. The facility is a 25,000-square-foot gaming venue with an 'oil field' motif. It features 500 electronic gaming devices, a food court, bar and lounge, entertainment venue, and gift shop.

"…The tribe's Principal Chief Jim Gray and the Sand Springs Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday. The tribe and the city of Sand Springs worked together to make the casino a reality.

"…The casino will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It features games like Mr. Money Bags, Black and White, Meltdown, and Vortex. Also available for play are new games like Top Notch, Top Shelf, Double Jackpot 7, and Wheel of Fortune. Some of the machines at the casino are 'ticket in, ticket out' machines. That means that you can take your ticket from one machine to another for play without having to cash-out first.

"The Million Dollar Elm Casino has a players' club, the members of which get a few more perks than in many others. More than 50 businesses in the Sand Springs area have partnered with the Million Dollar Elm to offer discounts to patrons who show their players' club cards…"
