No invitation? You'll have to wait

19 June 2008

WINDSOR, Ontario -- As reported by the Windsor Star: "Those who aren't among the lucky 5,000 invited guests at Caesars Windsor's grand reopening party Thursday will have to wait until 8:30 that night to get a first-hand look at the casino's $429-million makeover.

"The doors to Caesars Windsor's casino gaming floor will be closed from 4 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. for a grand reopening party being hosted by the casino, staff warned their regulars on Wednesday.

"After the doors close, casino staff will slip into new Caesars-style livery, while pit staff swap out the old Casino Windsor cards and casino chips.

"...Approximately 1,500 dignitaries -- including U.S.-based executives of Caesars' owner Harrah's Entertainment, scores of local politicians and officials of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation -- will join 3,500 regular customers on the invite list for a reception that begins at 6 p.m. in Caesars Windsor's two ballrooms..."
