No casino resorts for Ireland under new laws

IRELAND -- A much discussed and speculated upon super casino near Tipperary will no longer go ahead, the Irish Times reported.

The news amid the Minister for Justice's just approved new gambling laws which prohibit casino-resorts in Ireland, the report said.

The legislation permits only "modest sized" casinos, as the government was too concerned about the social impact of larger resorts, the Irish Times reported.
