Nevada Gaming Commission Approves Popeye Game18 October 2001
LAS VEGAS, Nevada – (Press Release) -- Oct. 18, 2001 -- Alliance Gaming Corp. (Nasdaq: ALLY) announced today that the Nevada Gaming Commission, by a 4-0 vote, has given final game theme approval for Bally Gaming and Systems' new Popeye wide-area progressive video slot machine.
The Commission's decision today comes 14 days after the Nevada Gaming Control Board unanimously recommended the Popeye theme for approval. The game software has already been submitted to the Control Board and approval is expected in December.
Popeye, already in play in the California Native American market, is Bally Gaming's first video wide-area progressive. With a progressive jackpot that resets at $100,000, Popeye joins Betty Boop, Blondie and Millionaire 777s as games on the Thrillions wide-area progressive system.
