Mountaineer Casino benefits from gas lease

CHESTER, West Virginia -- Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort profits fell by 7 percent in the second quarter of 2011, The Intelligencer reported.

This despite a $1.8 milllion natural gas drilling contract lease payment, the report said.

Competition from Pennsylvania casinos are thought to explain the decrease in revenue, The Intelligencer reported.
