Mohawk Casino Customers Like Slots

HOGANSBURG, New York – As reported by the Watertown Daily News: "New slot machines at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino are drawing first-time players and regulars alike, which could boost business at the gaming hall.

"Work crews installed about 350 blinking, boinging slot machines at the gambling hall to replace video bingo games which some players said they enjoyed less. The games opened April 5.

"…The machines will likely increase the number of visitors from 1,500 per day to 2,000, said Dianna C. Tarbell, general manager of the casino. The additional patrons could lead to about 100 new jobs at the gaming hall.

"By the end of 2005, workers are to install about 700 more slot machines. The games were approved by the state Legislature, Gov. George E. Pataki and the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs in 2004…"
