Missouri casino posts strong results

13 April 2007

LaGRANGE, Missouri – As reported by the Quincy Herald Whig: "Terrible's Mark Twain Casino had an exceptional month in March.

"According to figures released this week by the Missouri Gaming Commission, the LaGrange casino registered $3,032,037 in total revenue last month. Only once before has the casino cracked the $3 million mark in monthly winnings since opening July 25, 2001.

"Electronic gaming devices were the primary source of the casino's good fortune. MGC statistics show the casino's slot 'handle' — the amount of money pumped into machines by patrons — totaled a record $32.68 million in March. That eclipsed the casino's old slot handle record of $31.72 million set in August 2001, the casino's first full month in operation.

"…Statewide, Missouri's 11 casinos logged $148.6 million in revenue in March. That's up 4 percent from a year ago. Patronage statewide was down 3 percent, according to the MGC."
