Man Wins $3.9 Million Slot Jackpot

SAULT STE. MARIE, Michigan – As reported by the Sault Ste. Marie Evening News: "John Coulter won a $3,941,711 five-dollar Wheel of Fortune progressive MegaJackpot on Sunday, Feb. 13, according to a casino release.

"The winner, a financial advisor from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, said he likes the Wheel of Fortune progressive, and 'plays them quite often.' Incredibly, after investing only $20 into the winning machine, Coulter said he 'did not realize' he had won the top prize.

"…Immediate plans for his winnings will include 'clearing' his debt, and providing 'a college education for [my] six children. And travel,' he said. The new millionaire also commented that his win will 'reduce stress and make life more enjoyable.'

"Sunday's jackpot is the 9th MegaJackpot to be awarded at the casino since 1998, and the second over one million dollars. The Kewadin Casino has now paid out over $7.3 million in MegaJackpot prizes. The $3.9 million prize is not only the largest jackpot to be paid at the casino, but the largest in the state of Michigan. It is the second largest jackpot to hit on the five-dollar Wheel of Fortune progressive system nationwide…"
