Man Wins $1 Million Slot Jackpot

LAS VEGAS – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Aristocrat Technologies' Millioni$er(R) penny progressive games netted a lucky Las Vegas man $1 million today when he won the top jackpot award at Santa Fe Station Hotel Casino in Las Vegas.

The retired schoolteacher, who asked to remain anonymous, had stopped by Santa Fe Station early this morning to take advantage of a free slot play promotion and enjoy Millioni$er(R) before going to his second career as a teamster.

"I have to either get to the casino really early in the morning or go late at night to get on the Millioni$er(R) games," he said. "Millioni$er(R) is usually very busy and it is hard to get on the game."

The Nevada native said that he had invested about $30 after only 20 minutes of play when the Millioni$er(R) second-screen bonus appeared and he won the $1 million top prize.

"Millioni$er(R) is about the only game I play," he said. "I like the bonus games, the payout is good, and I get to play a while. I really enjoy the penny slots because they give you a lot of enjoyment, and that's what gambling is all about."

The lucky winner, a father of four children and grandfather of two, said that he'll use his winnings to buy his wife of 31 years a new car and help his children finish college. The winner said that his older son, in his final semester of law school at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif., was struggling to pay for his courses.

"Now we'll be able to pay for his last semester," the winner said. "I work for my kids, and this is a blessing that will allow my son to finish law school and get out in the job market."

The Santa Fe Station winner is the 14th player to win the Grand Jackpot on Aristocrat Technologies' Millioni$er(R) four-level mystery progressive penny slot games. Millioni$er(R) offers a static top jackpot of $1 million in Nevada and $500,000 in most other jurisdictions due to regulatory requirements.
