Long-awaited renos commence at Alberta casino

St Albert, ALBERTA -- Renos have begun at the Gold Dust Casino, St Albert Gazette reported.

Plans had to be shelved due to the recession, the report said.

Improvements include a new restaurant area that will open in late September, car park expansion, more slots and a new poker room -- all told the investment will be about $6 million, according to the St Albert Gazette.

The original budget of $10 million had to be scaled back, the report noted.
