Las Vegas marquees change color in honor of upcoming awareness days

2 October 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Venetian Las Vegas, The Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino and Sands Expo will change the colors of exterior marquee signs in honor of upcoming awareness days.

On 6 October, marquees will be blue as part of Governor Brian Sandoval's "Week of Respect" initiative. Schools across Clark County School District (CCSD) will "Get Your Blue On" and participate in activities every day to emphasize a safe and respectful learning environment, and in return, the community is encouraged to wear blue on this special day of awareness. This unifying gesture shows that CCSD is committed to reducing the instances of bullying in schools and treating others with respect. Blue is the symbol of unity and success for the Las Vegas community.

On 13 October, the properties will honor Domestic Violence Awareness Month, with the color purple to raise awareness about domestic violence and join in the efforts to end violence.

On 20 October, marquees will be pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease and the importance of early detection of breast cancer.
