Ladbrokes shuts London casino, 100 jobs lost

16 November 2009

LONDON, England -- A hundred jobs are lost as Ladbrokes closes its casino in Paddington, West London, The Times reported.

The casino will be sold to a Malaysian Hotel tycoon, subject to consent for the casino to move to new location at Marble Arch.

The British government's rollback on deregulation is thought to be an influencing factor in the decision to sell, though the casino was making a loss, the Times report noted.
