Kentucky Governor rolls out casino bashing ads

AURORA, Illinois -- As reported by the Beacon News: "'Oh, God. This is so ... Oh, man.'

"That's how Aurora Downtown Development Director Karen Christensen reacted Thursday afternoon when she first viewed a TV ad from the campaign of Kentucky's governor.

"In the campaign commercial, Gov. Ernie Fletcher highlights Aurora's Hollywood Casino, although not by name, as a poster child of sorts for what happens to good communities when casinos come in.

"Christensen said she found the slam unfortunate and 'pretty outrageous.'

"...Fletcher, a Republican, faces Democratic challenger Steve Beshear in the Nov. 6 election. Fletcher opposes casino gambling, while Beshear would allow Kentucky voters to decide on whether to expand the gaming industry..."
