Kansas Speedway casino plan passes state muster

TOPEKA, Kansas -- The planned Hollywood Casino has been approved by the State Board, according to a report in The Kansas City Star.

The $386 million proposed casino aims to open in 2012, The Kansas City Star report said.

2000 construction jobs and 1000 casino jobs should result from the proposed development, the report said, with gambling revenue in the first year being estimated at $203 million.
