Jersey wants to be on e-gaming white list

6 June 2011

JERSEY -- Jersey, a hive for e-gaming and gambling, wants the UK to recognize it as a "safe gambling jurisdiction", the BBC reported.

Currently Jersey companies cannot market their services to the UK because they are not included on the 2009 white list, the report explained.

Jersey, working with UK Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee, hopes to have a solution with the next few months, the BBC reported.

The 2005 Gambling Act bans gambling companies outside the EU from marketing to the UK, the report made note.
