Irish Poker Open registration fee lowered for online registrants

30 January 2013

DUBLIN, Ireland -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Paddy Power Poker today announced that it is giving all players who register for the upcoming Irish Open 2013 online a discount of €50.

Players who register via the Paddy Power Poker Holding Tank in the poker client will be able to buy in for €2,200 as opposed to the full buy-in amount which is €2,250. The holding tank is now available in the paddypowerpoker.com client and will be there until 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, the evening before the Irish Open 2013 main event.

Additionally online players can now use their Paddy Points in the online VIP shop to buy in to any Irish Open event.

The 10 events, being held in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin, Ireland from March 29 to April 1, have cash buy-ins from €170 to €2,250 and can now be bought online at Paddy Power Poker for between 19,000 and 170,000.

Simply log in to the poker client and browse the VIP shop.

Paddy Power, spokesman for the site, said, “We wanted to give a little back to our poker players ahead of the best tournament in Europe so they’ve already started earning money - €50 is 20 percent of the registration fee - the moment they buy in online.”

“We’ve also made every buy-in available for Paddy Points so players who wish to participate in the unique atmosphere of the Irish Open can do so simply by racking up some points on the site. We look forward to seeing you there!”

Online qualification for the Irish Open main event is well underway.

The main weekly satellite takes place each Sunday at 8 p.m. with four Irish Open packages worth €3,200 guaranteed in the €160 + €16 no-limit hold’em freezeout. The guaranteed packages include €395 for five nights accommodation at the Burlington Hotel as well as €525 for flights and spending.

Monday at 8 p.m. players can opt for the €30 + €3 no-limit hold’em rebuy/add with one Irish Open seat guaranteed.

Thursday at 8 p.m. sees a €100 + €9 no-limit hold’em freezeout with one Irish Open seat guaranteed.

Anyone who qualifies for the Irish Open main event at paddypowerpoker.com can take part in the Sole Survivor last longest with the last qualifier standing walking away with €50,000 in cash, a World Series of Poker 2013 main event buy-in and Irish Open 2014 buy-in.
