Ireland: Super casino complex given planning permission

13 June 2011

TIPPERARY, Ireland -- The proposed €460 million super casino complex has been approved by the national planning board, An Bord Pleanála, The Irish Times reported.

The proposed complex includes a replica of the White House, casino, hotel, race course, golf course and greyhound track, the report said.

An Bord Pleanála refused permission for the "underground entertainment centre" part of the proposal and the granted planning permission is subject to 32 conditions, The Irish Times noted.

The complex still requires changes in the gambling laws of the country to proceed, the report noted.
