Ireland set to tax online gambling

DUBLIN, Ireland -- Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen is set to introduce legislation to tax online gambling, according to a report in the Sunday Independent.

There's the question of implementation and whether this new legislation will impact online gambling companies who have created jobs in Ireland, the report said.

The proposed tax appears to be tied into subsidizing the racing industry, the Sunday Independent report suggested.
