IP Resort receives AAA 4-Diamond rating

27 August 2007

ATLANTA, Georgia -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The re-branded and upgraded IP Resort Casino Spa in Biloxi, Mississippi earned a AAA 4-Diamond rating 20 months after it is was severely battered by Hurricane Katrina in summer 2005. After the total upgrade of the hotel and casino and implementation of the revolution (sm) Revenue Management System from The Rainmaker Group, the 1,087-room hotel is achieving a 300% increase in its average daily rate while running over 90 percent occupancy since its post-Katrina renovation.

Pre-Katrina, the property was named the Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino. Today the 32-story 4-Diamond IP attracts a new class of guest. "The property team worked hard to create the new IP Casino Resort Spa from the shell of the old property," said Robert Brigham, VP of hotel operations. "Everything about the IP is upgraded from the pre-Katrina facility. Now we use the revolution revenue management system to optimize the room rate for each guest and group based on their value to all areas of the enterprise, including the casino."

Convention business is a booming market along the Gulf as the region continues its renaissance. "The IP Casino Resort Spa offers 20,000 square feet of upscale meeting space and is in high demand," explained Brigham. "We run all potential business through a profitability analysis in Rainmaker's group module to forecast a group's total theoretical revenue contribution to the company. I personally approve every group."
