IP Casino raises $91,000 for Habitat for Humanity

20 November 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast hosted its annual rappelling fundraiser event, "Hang Out with Habitat," at IP Casino Resort and Spa on Saturday, 14 October, raising $91,000 for the nonprofit organization. Several IP team members participated, raising $8,000 for the event.

The fundraising event offered team members from the property a chance to go "over the edge" and rappel down the IP's 32-floor hotel tower. To experience the thrill for this great cause, participants had to have raised a minimum of $1,000.

Those that took on the challenge from the IP, the "Edgers," included Director of Food and Beverage Stephen Morgan and his wife, Cristin Morgan, Tables Games Managers Le Bui and Jeff Blanchard, Executive Host Brigit Pence, Player Development Manager Cory Councilman and Security Manager Tommy Rajnic.

"We were honored to host Habitat for Humanity's very special event for the second consecutive year, and even have some of our own team members contribute to such a great cause," said Duncan McKenzie, Vice President and General Manager.

The event was managed by professional rappelling and event company Over the Edge, who oversaw all safety and logistics for the event.
