2 February 2005

INDIANA – As reported by the Indianapolis Star: "A fourth member of the Indiana Gaming Commission has resigned, giving Gov. Mitch Daniels the ability to appoint a majority of this board.

"Norman L. Melhiser, who was appointed Oct. 12 by then-Gov. Joe Kernan, resigned last week after attending just one meeting during his brief three-month tenure.

"…Under Daniels' direction, the seven-member gaming commission and new executive director Ernest Yelton are reviewing the decision to grant the state's 11th riverboat to Donald Trump's casino company, which has filed for bankruptcy protection."
