Illinois developer forced to sell shares

ILLINOIS – As reported by the Chicago Tribune: "A Chicago developer has agreed to sell his interest in the Casino Queen riverboat in East St. Louis to his sister, after the Illinois Gaming Board raised questions about his past ties to a known associate of organized crime.

"The developer, Gerard Kenny, a partner in the new Mandarin Oriental Tower near Millennium Park who has a licence from the Gaming Board, will sell an almost 3 percent share in the casino to his sister, said board spokesman Gene O'Shea.

"…The Tribune reported in 2005 that Kenny had a business venture with a convicted felon who had been identified by authorities in New Jersey as an associate of organized crime…"
