Illinois Casino Relocation Approved

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois – As reported by the Quad Cities Online: "The Casino Rock Island hit the legislative jackpot Thursday, when the state House of Representatives endorsed a proposal allowing it to relocate.

"The vote buoyed the hopes of those who want the casino to from downtown Rock Island to a site near Interstate 280 and Illinois 92. The move to southwest Rock Island is considered critical to the area's economic future because it would enable the casino to expand.

"…The measure now proceeds to the state Senate, where it is far from a sure bet. Sen. Mike Jacobs, D-East Moline, said Wednesday it is unclear whether sufficient votes are onboard for passage…"
