Illinois casino has suspicious package scare

AURORA, Illinois -- As reported by The Beacon News: "Aurora authorities evacuated the Hollywood Casino and some nearby buildings Saturday morning after a suspicious package was reported at the casino, 1 W. New York St. There were no injuries.

"Aurora police said they and city firefighters were called to the casino about 11:50 a.m. Saturday. They evacuated the casino and buildings along New York Street between Route 25 and River Street for about an hour as they investigated the incident.

"According to police, the investigation determined that a casino employee found a device attached to his personal vehicle after he finished work Friday night. He apparently went home with the device but on Saturday morning returned to the casino, where he turned it in to security peronnel. The Kane County Bomb Squad was called in immediately, police said.

"The bomb squad determined the device was not a threat..."
