Ilani Casino Resort to remain closed until further notice

1 May 2020

Ilani Casino Resort announced that it is extending its temporary closure form 1 May to until further notice. Below is the announcement made on the Washington casino's website and Facebook page.

"The Cowlitz Indian Tribe is dedicated to supporting the health and safety of team members, our communities and our neighbors. Like countless others, we have had to make some difficult decisions in recent days and weeks amidst the coronavirus pandemic, including the temporary closure of ilani. Suspending operations at ilani was the right decision and made in cooperation with guidelines from the CDC and local and state authorities. We are committed to doing our part in helping to slow the spread of COVID-19, and therefore, we have agreed to again defer to guidelines from the State of Washington. On May 01, Governor Jay Inslee extended stay-at-home orders and the continued temporary closure of non-essential businesses, which means that ilani will remain closed. Re-opening date options continue to be discussed by working closely with the Cowlitz Tribe and Governor Jay Insleeā€™s office, and by monitoring federal health and safety guidelines.

A limited number of team members will remain on site to secure our assets and to operate the Cowlitz Crossing Fuel and Convenience Store which will remain open to the public 24/7 during the stated time. Our goal right now is to support our team members and communities as much as we can during this closure, and our hope is that these drastic measures will help provide the relief needed to contain COVID-19."
