Gaming NewsHuron Gaming Room Reopened6 June 2005MICHIGAN – As reported by the Grand Rapids Press: "Casino patrons who venture to the eastern Upper Peninsula will find the smaller of the two Kewadin Casinos Sault Ste. Marie gaming areas has reopened after a renovation. "The Huron Gaming Room, redone with stone entrances, wooden pillars and mosaic tile, features 230 slot machines, poker room, updated keno area and the new Rapids Lounge, which can accommodate more than 100 guests. The lounge includes a dance floor and will be home to dueling pianos, jazz groups, country acts and other bands in the coming months. "Next up on the renovation schedule is the DreamCatchers restaurant, which will emerge with a new decor and buffet. "The gaming room and restaurant projects are part of a renovation program that will refinish and upgrade portions of all five Kewadin casinos. The largest project is new casino resort in St. Ignace on a bluff overlooking Horseshoe Bay. The $33 million project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2006…" |
