29 November 2011

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The World Series of Poker, the richest gaming event on the planet, continues its 2011/2012 Circuit Events season at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, December 1 – 12, 2011.

12 official Ring Events are scheduled at Harrah’s Resort, its seventh year of hosting the WSOP Circuit. A variety of events will be offered, including Omaha High/Low 8 or better, and No Limit Hold’em with all the action kicking off on Thursday, December 1st with a No Limit Hold’em tournament. The $1,600 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Main Event begins on Saturday, December 10th and is a three-day structured event. This year, with a newly-revamped Circuit format and online coverage of all final tables, the house is sure to be packed with world-class talent.

Harrah’s Resort was home to the first-ever WSOP Circuit Event back in January, 2005. Among the pros in attendance at the inaugural tournament series were Jennifer Harman-Traniello, Allen Cunningham and Erick Lindgren. Nearly seven years later, Harrah’s Resort and Atlantic City remains a flagship stop of the WSOPC, attracting some of poker’s top players. Liv Boeree, Michael Binger and Dwyte Pilgrim were some of the pros who competed at Circuit Events.

“Harrah’s Resort takes great pride in being the East Coast’s home of the World Series of Poker and is excited to host such an accomplished field of poker players during the WSOP Circuit tournaments,” said John Smith, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah’s Resort. “Poker players from across the region have a unique opportunity to play in the World’s most exciting and anticipated gambling event and can only play here, at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City. This is yet another reason why Atlantic City is a unique entertainment destination,” continued Smith.

WSOP Circuit leader board points will be distributed to players based on their performance in Atlantic City with the winner of the Main Event earning an automatic entry to the $1 million WSOPC National Championship to be held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
